Stock-level and sector-level portfolio overlap between any two mutual funds.
The Fund Overlap Checker will compute stock-level and sector-level overlap between any two mutual funds using their actual AMFI-reported monthly portfolio disclosures. You’ll see: percentage of overlapping holdings, unique exposure of each fund, and a clear diversification verdict — all from real data, never estimated.
We are currently ingesting holdings data for all 1,800+ active schemes from AMC monthly disclosures. This feature goes live once ingestion reaches sufficient coverage. No email required — check back soon.
While you wait, you can compare two funds side-by-side on returns, risk, and NAV growth using the Fund Comparison tool.
Many Indian investors hold multiple mutual funds believing they are diversified, when in reality their top 5 holdings across all funds are the same 10 large-cap stocks. This is called portfolio overlap — and it means you are paying management fees on what is effectively one concentrated large-cap bet, not genuine diversification.
True diversification requires combining funds with genuinely different mandates: a large-cap index fund overlaps heavily with any large-cap active fund. A flexi-cap fund and a small-cap fund, by contrast, may share fewer than 15% of holdings. The overlap tool will quantify this precisely so you can build a genuinely diversified portfolio rather than an expensive index fund replica.
